Index Cards 59 - 62

I'm down to the last few index cards from the summer - the prompt for #59 was plaid….so I decided to create a plaid with some washi tape.

I don't remember the prompt for this one - it may have been to use a quote or a font

Prompt #61 - parachute.  These little parachutes are part of a stencil and I added the little bodies and strings.

And finished - until next summer.

Here are all of them together - it is blatantly obvious that I need to use a little less blue in my life!

Index Cards 54- 58

I can't remember if the prompt for this index card was envelopes or mail.  I had saved some of the more unique pieces of envelopes when I was soaking stamps off in the spring - they make a unique collage.

Stamps? Paris?  Not sure of the prompt, but I've kept all these retired stamps because I love the memory of being in Paris.

This was suppose to be cogs or wheels and I do not like this card at all!

I created a sunrise on watercolour paper.  I love how the brush strokes turned out on this one.

Queen of Hearts was the prompt here - I stamped the crown and traced the hearts, putting zentangles into each of them.

If you are Canadian, I hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.  If I don't post tomorrow it will be because we're eating turkey!

Take time to create something everyday.

Index cards 41-47

I loved the bridges that we saw through the countryside in Scotland - we didn't see the actual 'Harry Potter"bridge, but a few came close.  I sketched this out using a photograph I had taken.

Great way to use up some of the sticky letters I have.

I pulled the definition of doodle out of the dictionary - so that must have been the prompt for this card.

Focus or Blur

I love doing these sorts of designs - but it can be hard to keep things straight!

A Mandala on this spacey sort of background that was done on a gelli plate.

I can't remember what this prompt was, It might have been plaid or dancing.  I found a little package of kleenex that had these highland dancers on them.  I added blue tissue paper around the outside and let it hand over the edge.

Hope you're enjoying your fall day.

Index Cards 35 - 40 Catchup

The rainbow for this was painted previously for one of my watercolour practice exercises…now filled with zentangles.

We had been in Edinburgh, Scotland for a day at this point, and I loved all the chimneys on the buildings.  Of course there were lots of pigeons too.

As we left Edinburgh and went traveling around Scotland we saw a number of wind turbines.  The paint that was already on the card lent itself well for a landscape.

Another card based on what we were seeing at the time - I had to sketch this "ticket" because there were no photographs allowed in the castle we were in.  I thought it was cool - a metal piece that cut out this sort of shape and was used for private meetings of the Jacobites back in 1746.  Wow!

The prompt for this card - games!

Index Cards 29-34 -Catchup!

Obviously the prompt for this card was Ice Cream.

Canada Day 2015!

We were traveling this day to Scotland…I stamped some of my cards ahead of time with "travel" themed stamps so I could use them.

I love making these little stacks!

That the catchup for today.

A lot of Catching up to do!…….

I know it has been MONTHS since I've posted on this blog - but I haven't stopped arting - so, I'm going to begin catching up by posting the rest of the Index Card a Day cards that I created this past July and the add some of the other projects I've created.  It's actually fun looking back at these - remember all of them are just small index card sized.

I'll not expose you to the whole lot at once - there are 62 in total…but this is a beginning.

Icad 2015 week 1

Day 2 - Carnival - it took me a while to decide what to do for this one - so many ideas were possible, but I finally went with a mask.

Day 3 - Make a Map
I had a piece of gelli printed paper left over from last year's icad - It's a giraffe print stencil, but it looks like a road map - so I just doodled and stamped.

Day 4 - Mailbox
Yes I had to google exactly how our mailboxes look.

Day 5 - Owl.
I decided to try to make the pieces of the owl large enough to be able to zentangle in each of them.

Day 6 - Periodic Table
This was a tough one!  But when I finally zeroed in on gold, I immediately thought of this dress, which is probably one of the first Stampin'Up! sets I got.

Day #7- Taxi
I had some of this cute little car stickers from scrapbooking, and I immediately went to this song!

So that was the first week of Icad with the prompts and the "theme" of the week was: Drawing, Doodling, Pens, Markers.

more icad catchup…..

Day 18 - Orange - I love the Shocktop coasters….well coasters of any kind!

Day 19 - Harry Potter

Day 20 - Candy Wrapper.  I took the cardboard from a Purdy's Chocolate Survival Kit and cut it down to index card size to use it as the base for today.

Day 21 - Repeated pattern

Day 22 - Beach Umbrella.  Added a bit of sandpaper along the bottom for the umbrella to stick into.

Day 23 - Star Wars - I wasn't much into the prompt for the day, so just added stars on the tips of the mandala.

Day24 - Brown

Day 25 - Maple Leaf - Added the lyrics of the national anthem amongst the leaves.  Too bad this wasn't on Canada Day.

Day 26 - Magnifying Glass

Day 26 - Robot - I used one of our new Stampin'Up! stamps - it's such  cute little robot.

Day 32 - Coffee or Tea - I pre stamped the coffee cup before I left for holiday since I knew what the card prompts were ahead of time.  Just added some zentangles around the outside.

Day 29 - California - thought of the Mama's and Poppa's when I thought of California.  I cut the head out of a magazine from the airplane and added a watercolour background and some musical tissue that I brought with me on holiday.

I'm still catching up - not in order either….but I'm having fun and that's what counts.

Have fun and create every day.
