Book Covers, Quotes and Zentangles

I'm in the process of making a journal to take with me on vacation to Scotland.  I was going to cover the cover with tartans that my family can wear, but when I smushed the covers together with paint I loved what happened…..so I guess the tartans are going to be in different sections of the book.

Another quote in my quote books

I usually do the my zentangles in black - I have trouble with colour- so we must practise practise practise!

Quotes and Watercolour Faith

Well - the school year has now come to an end and I can maybe get more posts done as projects get finished instead of waiting for weeks!
I continued working in my quote book.  I'm trying to do a bit more with the lettering - but it doesn't come easy.  I'm doing better with adding a few little embellishments after I'm "done" too.

I did this a while ago and can't remember what book it's in - it may actually be in my watercolour paper book.  In any case - the word is a stamp that we had a long time ago in Stampin'Up!  I always loved the font. Then I just played with really wet watercolour.

More Doodled Quotes….

Another group of quotes I worked on over a weekend….

The tulips on this one are from a paper napkin.

Doodling Quotes

I was away from home for a weekend and I only brought my "Quote Book" along to work in.  I hadn't finished up some quotes in such a long time.  The book isn't full yet though - so I'll keep adding them.

Zentangles and a quote

I don't ALWAYS work on prompt 60 stuff…sometimes I'm a bit beat or waiting for paint to dry so I grab one of my other books to work in.  I have a book of quotes that I don't think I've shared on my blog yet - it's a hand bound found paper book that I bought.  When I come across a quote I like, I pencil it onto a random page and the doodle it at another time.
There are various types of paper in this book, some I paint over first, but others, like this paper bag, I leave as it is.
This quote is true to my soul!

Zigzags and Quotes

Daily Paper Prompt - Day 65 - Wax Resist
I used a white crayon to create the zig zag lines.  Down in the left corner there had been a stamped image of diamonds - I coloured them in so they'd show through a bit.  Next I good some watercolours the same colours as the stamped diamonds and went to town in zigzaggy sorts of strokes.

It was a busy day, and I hadn't worked in my quote book for quite a while - in fact I had started the vine at the top of the page on an earlier day.

Doodled Quote Duo

Got a bit of doodling done in my quote book yesterday.  Whenever I come across a quote that I like, I write it in the book in pencil, so when I have more time I can go back and doodle the page.

This book is also a book I grab when I'm painting to put the leftover paint into - creating backgrounds for future quotes.

Hope your day is going well.
